A need for a reduction in energy intensity and greenhouse gas emissions of bitumen heavy oil recovery processes has led to the invention several methods where mass-transfer-based terms cold or heated solvent injection are used reduce viscosity rather than steam injection. Despite extensive numerical experimental investigations, field results not always aligned what is predicted unless history matches done. These discrepancies can be explained by investigating mechanisms involved mass transfer corresponding at pore level. two-phase multicomponent pore-scale simulator developed realistic porous media simulation. The predicts chamber front velocity propagation agreement with 2D data literature. specifically vapor extraction (VAPEX) modelling medium.
